Happy 2nd Birthday Nolan!

Image
A few memories from Nolan’s two years… A new family picture! We went to the New York Aquarium with Grandma & Grampa Hamilton and Auntie Mere.  Then we took a little walk on the Coney Island boardwalk.  The kids spied the “rides” and so Grampa bought them a couple of rides on the roller coasters in kiddie land.  Then they had a “dip” in the water sprinkler in the sand.  Nolan had a roll in the sand too…the kids were pretty messy when it was all done!  We headed home for a nap. After a supper of hot dogs with mac ‘n’ cheese (some of Nolan’s favorites), we let him dig into the presents. Grandma & Grandpa Godby sent a Hunter Dan doll.  His boots come off.  Couldn’t be more perfect for Nolan right now!  We said, “Do you want to open another present?”  He gave an emphatic “NO!” and returned to Dan’s boots.  After.each.present! Elaine gave Nolan a ball glove with Velcro baseball.  Then Mommy gave Elaine ...

Thankful Thursday

Image
Just forget that today is really Friday, and pretend I wrote this on Thursday.  Because I was thinking it on Thursday, so that must count for something!  You’re probably tired of me talking about the twins, but I’m thankful for them again!  These little bundles of happiness have been sleeping through the night!  Whoopee!!!  Several nights last week, and for the last three nights, I have had uninterrupted sleep.  I can’t tell you how great that feels! I’m also just overwhelmed with gratitude that they are here, healthy, and doing so well in their development.  I sometimes get on the Mother’s of Twins message boards.  So many ladies are on complete bed rest, have babies born at 28 weeks and in the NICU, or don’t yet have their babies home with them.  Others are at three months with their twins, and still getting up multiple times in the night.  I feel so blessed! Another gratitude for whoever told me to read Healthy Sleep Habits, Hap...

Here’s another proof that there are kids living in our house…

The Bronx Zoo

Image
Last week I embarked on a big adventure.  I took all four of my kiddos…on the train…to the Bronx Zoo!  My friend Maggy and I have zoo memberships which are getting ready to expire.  We wanted to go to the “big zoo” before that happened!  I could not have done this alone.  We planned to go on a Thursday so that I could bring Symphony (my mother’s helper) along.  Maggy brought two teens from her church also.  We were quite the entourage as we trekked down the subway steps with four children, two babies, and three strollers in tow.  It was even more of a sight as we loaded onto the train car as fast as we could, clogging up an entire doorway  with the strollers.  But we made it!    The twinsies did great – and looked cute, too!  I only have one little hat for Liberty, and it was a 6-9 months size so very large on her!  Nehemiah kept turning his to the side…guess he’s more “cool” than I thought! When we arrived we...

Guest Posting…

Today I’m guest posting over at the Imperfect Homemaker .  Though you already know about the twinsies, they are the basis for my topic.  Here's a snippet of my post… On October 4, 2012 I went to the doctor to confirm my third pregnancy. Little did I know that when I left the office that day, I would enter a new season of life. You see, the doctor informed me that I was not only expecting our third child, but also our fourth…I was having twins! With this news came the realization that we needed to find a new apartment so that I wouldn’t be climbing three flights of stairs, my husband needed a new job making more money, and we needed a new vehicle that could hold four car seats. Life with four children ages three and under was definitely a season of life that I didn’t anticipate ever walking through! Click to continue reading…

Kids Were Here…

Image
I recently stumbled on a blog of photographers sharing pictures which showed that “kids were here.”  They have a new post each month.  Though I’m not a part of it, I thought it was a fun photo prompt!  I’ve tried to see the “kid-ness” in messes and situations that would otherwise frustrate me at times.  So here’s my first picture… see if you can guess which kid was here!
