Out of Town

I will be out of town from February 22-March 4, 2009. My husband and I are going to Israel with his family. We are very excited and can hardly wait to get to the Holy Land. Please pray for our safety and our luggage while we are gone. I'll post pictures when I return!

Works for Me: Great Bookmark

This idea came from my Mom, so all credit goes out to her. To make a simple bookmark that won't slide out of your book, follow these easy steps.

1. Using fancy scissors, cut the corner off of a colored envelope.

2. Slide the cut envelope corner onto the top corner of the page you want to mark.

3. Voila!

Because the envelope is colored, it can be easily seen when looking at the pages of your book to find your place. Because the envelope slips over the page, it stays put instead of sliding out from between your marked pages.

(Sorry this picture is a little blurry)

I WON!!!!!!!

I entered the drawing for the Universal Orlando park pass (the commercial first aired during the Super Bowl) and I won!!! I can't remember ever winning anything exciting! I won a 7-day, 2-park pass to Universal Orlando that I can use anytime this year. Since I didn't enter until the day after the Super Bowl, and prizes were only being given to the first 100,000 entries, I never thought I had a chance to win. Yeah!!!

New Blog - Polished Palaces

I have finally launched my new blog. I have been desiring to start a devotional blog for some time, but I have not taken the time to actually get it going. I was finally able to begin.

The blog is called Polished Palaces, based on Psalm 144:12 - "That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:"

I have not decided the frequency of my posts at Polished Palaces. The first three devotionals are schedule to post - one today, one tomorrow, and one on February 2nd. These three devotionals cover the theme topic and introduce the blog. I have in mind what I would like to do for my first "series" but I don't have it on paper yet.

Perhaps it will be of some benefit to somebody, somewhere. And if not, it has been beneficial to me to probe deeper into God's Word and write some things down.
