About Me

My name is Andrea.  I am a child of God, a wife, homemaker, and homeschooling stay-at-home-mom.  My real story started when I chose to begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  To read more about this, click on the "Gospel" tab on the homepage.

The Lord continued to work in my life from age seven through high school, when I felt His leading into vocational ministry.  I attended Ambassador Baptist College in Lattimore, NC where I majored in Bible and Missions, and also studied music. at Ambassador Baptist College.

During college I met my husband and we were married in October, 2007.  For the first couple years of our marriage we lived in Virginia Beach where Ben continued his seminary studies.  Our daughter Elaine was born there in 2009.  That's when I added "mommy" to my job description, and my life hasn't been the same since!

Ben had spent a summer in NYC with a Jewish evangelism ministry during college. God used that summer to burden Ben's heart for urban ministry.  We later moved to Brooklyn, NY in June 2010 to receive training and ministry experience under Pastor Jim Bickel at Bethel Baptist Fellowship.

In June, 2011 we welcomed our son Nolan to the family.  He is our first Brooklyn baby! Nolan is a happy, easy-going, smiling kiddo, with the cutest expressions and takes on life. Then the Lord gave us a double blessing when we welcomed twins into the family in April 2013.  Liberty is a cute little red head, and her brother Nehemiah (35 minutes younger) is a total boy - boo-boos and sound effects included.  Our fifth blessing came in August 2015.  Henry gives us a whole handful of kiddos.  Life is busy and never boring, but we are so blessed!

A little about myself... I love to organize and label and laminate everything.  I enjoy homemaking, and I can even say I have embraced urban homemaking with its small spaces and limitations!  I like all things purple, daisies, Starbucks, and homemade.  I also play the piano and homeschool my kiddos.

Our family began a ministry transition in 2014 when we felt the Lord leading us to begin an independent, fundamental, Baptist church in the Bronx, New York City.  There are 1.4 million people in that borough, and only a hand full of Gospel preaching churches.  We are currently targeting the Kingsbridge neighborhood.  We spent over 2.5 years on the road raising financial support for this endeavor, and we are beginning Emmaus Road Baptist Church in the summer of 2017.

This blog is a conglomeration of everything I love - my amazing God, my wonderful family pictures (it's my online scrapbook), recipes, Scripture verses, hymn histories, cloth diapers, quotes, New York City, and a little bit of politics.  It's the story of the Hamilton's, and our life in New York City.  I want God to be glorified in everything that is recorded here.  Come along with me on the journey...

The Brooklyn Bridge is my favorite NYC icon!
