The Dahlgren Apartment

We are moving to a quiet little street called Dahlgren Place.  It’s parallel to the onramp to the Verrazano Bridge {takes you from Brooklyn to Staten Island…for the non-New Yorkers}.  We went to measure the windows today so we could purchase blinds.  I was able to snap a few pictures while we were there.

We live on the ground floor and the landlord lives above us.  They have a deck which leads down to a concrete patio on the backside of our bedrooms.  We will be allowed to put the kids’ tricycles underneath their deck.

When you walk into our apartment you look straight into the living room and the kitchen.

Looking back at the front door from the kitchen.  We plan to put the couch in front of the window, and our bookcases on the left wall.  You can see the fridge in the right corner and our table will go near there.

I am uber excited to have a “normal” kitchen.  As in a full size stove, lots of cabinets, and drawers.  The fridge and stove are brand new…well most of the apartment is brand new.  The owners just moved in themselves and totally renovated everything.

If you are looking at the stove, the bathroom door is to the right.  It is a “normal” sized bathroom compared to what I have had! 

I am going to put a shelving unit in this space to be my linen closet.

On the other side of the bathroom wall is a walk in storage closet.  I’m just a little bit happy about that too!

The bedrooms are at the back of the house.  We will take the room on the left.  The door to the back patio is in the right hand room, and our bed won’t fit around that door.

There is a closet like this in each bedroom.

The kids’ room.  More than enough room for bunk beds and a crib!  Maybe the toys can even fit into their room instead of the living room!

We are moving on December 15th.  We are excited!
