Special Prayer Request

prayer My friend Kristi Colas is a missionary in Normandy, France.  This morning I received a special prayer request from Kristi, and I wanted to share it with you all so that you can take her to the Throne of Grace with me.  Here is what she wrote:

“Hi to each of you who are faithful in praying for the furtherance of the Gospel here in Normandy, France! I wanted to send out a quick note to ask for you to redouble your labor of love over the next ten days especially, as we are in the midst of a major Gospel offensive. We have a team of five young people from a French Bible institute here helping us with several evangelistic outreaches, and the Lord has been giving us some amazing opportunities to share the Gospel and make new contacts.

“Tonight (Thursday Nov. 19th) I am hosting a Bible study led by my pastor on the unique message of the Bible, which is my church’s first step towards planting a daughter church in my town on the outskirts of Rouen. Several of my dear unsaved friends in my neighborhood have agreed to come and many others have been invited.

“Saturday evening the church is having a Thanksgiving theme for the monthly couples’ night. The students and I will be serving and participating in a skit that explains the Christian origins of the American holiday (which most French people are unfamiliar with). It’s going to be entertaining (especially since Pastor Fox casted Squanto as a girl!) and a lot of work for Mrs. Fox, who’s preparing the food. We are praying that the Lord will work in the hearts of the unsaved couples who plan to attend.

Next weekend, Nov. 27-29, the church is holding special evangelistic meetings with a pastor from northern France. In recent weeks dozens of new contacts have been made and we are praying for them to come and be saved.

I’ve seen the Lord do some amazing things recently. One of my neighbors, Mrs. Mary, has begun studying the Bible with me each week. I’ve never had such an eager student! She has not yet grasped her need for repentance and salvation. Last week I got to share the Gospel with a 12-year-old boy who was very tender to the Spirit’s working and who made a confession of faith. A French girl came over for supper on Sunday and confided that she no longer believes in God but she’s very interested in the occult. How great the needs are, and how weak I am – but the battle is the Lord’s, and that is why I am asking for you to persevere in prayer. He always leads us to triumph in Christ!”

I hope you will join me in praying for Kristi, the church in Normandy, and the efforts in Rouen during the next 10 days.  When Kristi sends her update, I will post it here.  Thanks!  Kristi’s Website can be found here.
