Nolan’s Two Month Check-up and Elaine’s Big Sister Moments

Today Nolan had his two month doctor’s visit.  The one where he gets shots.  And finally…an official weigh-in!  After all of the information was tabulated, we learned that our big guy is a whopping 14 pounds, 10 ounces.  His big sister (bigger by 20 months…yes – almost TWO years) weighed in at 22 pounds, 4 ounces.  Okay…that’s only an eight pound difference!

It was a very different experience for me to be told that my son is in the 90th percentile for weight, and 99th percentile for height (25 inches).  Elaine has always hovered around the 10th percentile, and I would get the “she needs to gain more weight” lecture from the doctor.

**Update: I checked my records, and Elaine had similar measurements when she was six months old!

Elaine was given a new baby doll at church last night.  “Sally” became “Betsy’s” younger sister, and was given the privilege of going to the doctor today.  When I undressed Nolan for his weigh-in, Elaine undressed Sally.  When Nolan got his eyes checked, Elaine held Sally up for Dr. Mahale to check also.  When I nursed Nolan to comfort him after his shots, Elaine nursed Sally.  Too funny!

Elaine and “Sally” waiting for the doctor.  Every good mom brings cookies to the doctor’s office, right?

Waiting for shots.  Elaine shared “Sally” to comfort Nolan.  She was so eager to sit on the exam table – it’s a totally different attitude when it’s not her doctor’s appointment!

Taking care of Sally – “she eat” just like “Nowan”
