Kenny & Becky’s Wedding
Better late than never…I think! Here are some more highlights from the wedding trip. These pictures are more of the extended family and activities rather than just the Bride & Groom!
The Rehearsal Dinner
Kenny requested that Mr. Dallas (the chef at Ambassador Baptist College) cater the rehearsal dinner. Mom did the table decorations using vases, ribbon, and cutouts from her Cricut machine! Kenny & Becky’s colors were red & black, so that’s what Mom used in decorating!
Kate Hitz, the daughter of one of Kenny’s groomsmen, came and climbed up in Gramsie’s lap. Elaine’s jealous streak came out, so she climbed up in Gramsie’s lap too!
The Family Pictures
Pictures were running just a smidge behind (that always happens at big events, I think), so we took our own pictures of the different family members present for the wedding. There was a good representation from both sides of Kenny’s family!
Mom and Grams. It was great to have Grams at the wedding, but there was a hint of sadness because Gramps wasn’t with her this time.
The Hamilton's – Ben, Elaine, #2, and Andrea
Uncle Harold and Aunt Lucy. Uncle Harold is my great-uncle – he is Gramps’ oldest brother. They live in Virginia, and Grams flew there for a visit, and then they all drove down to NC together. We had a good time together!
Elaine did manage to steal the show for a little while. Here she is entertaining Grams.
The Groom and his favorite (and prettiest) niece!
I love this picture – Kenny, Grams, and Wesley.
The Reception
The reception hall was beautifully decorated, as was the cake. There were also other delicious sweets being served. We enjoyed some family time before the Bride and Groom arrived to cut the cake, throw the bouquet, and make their exit!
Great Grandpa Paul and Elaine. We didn’t get a whole lot of time with the Paul side of the family…but Elaine did get some Grandpa time.
Elaine was really exhausted at this point. Grandpa Godby succeeded in putting her to sleep. Then Grandma Godby came along popping balloons after the Bride & Groom exited, and naptime was over!
All of Mom’s siblings were present except for Uncle Nathan (he lives overseas). Uncle Scott, Aunt Jo, Aunt Robin, Uncle Marty, Mom, Grandma, & Grandpa.
The Werner's – Tegan, Shaun, Cassi, Kinsley, and Selah. Cassi is my cousin. The Werner’s are ministering with Uncle Marty at Whisper Mountain Camp in western NC. They drove a couple of hours to be part of the wedding! Cassi blogs about camp life at Along the Trail.
