Nolan Obadiah

Daddy felt much better after grabbing some winks at home!  It was a long night/morning in the delivery room!

Nolan getting his first check-up.  He was 7 pounds 6 ounces.  Still waiting for his length measurement with the pediatrician today (there was a big miscommunication about notifying our doctor of Nolan’s birth).

 
Some time with just Mommy.  He has the usual dry skin and bluish fingers & feet (from having the cord wrapped so tight around his neck), but his hair is so soft.  A whole head of dark hair, just like big sister Elaine.  However, unlike Elaine, he has basically no eyelashes!

 
Big yawn!  That is the same butterfly blanket that Elaine used in the hospital…made by Grandma Godby.  I think we need a blue one now! (hint, hint)

First visitor – Grandma Hamilton came up for a few minutes.  Nolan won’t get to meet Elaine until we go home on Saturday morning.  Mommy is enjoying her baby boy, but missing her Elaine!  From all reports, she has been keeping Grandma very busy though!  I am so thankful that Sissy came to take care of Elaine at home…it is a HUGE blessing!

I had a wonderful labor/delivery experience here at Maimonides (the best baby hospital in the state, so we’re told), but I have been a little disappointed with the postpartum experience.  I have to remind myself that there are a lot more people and births here than in Virginia Beach!  Suffice it to say that I can’t wait for Ben to arrive with my bagel, and I really want to go home today, not tomorrow!
