Nolan’s Two Month Pictures

Image
Nolan turned two months last week.  So of course it was time for a photo shoot!  He ended up not cooperating very well, but I got a couple of decent shots out of the morning. “You’re kidding me!  The Orioles won????” Editor’s Note – that was a personal jab at my husband! “Are we almost done?  This hat is killing me.” Daddy says, “Nolan is supposed to be a preacher or a baseball player, not a lumberjack.” And of course, since I was taking pictures of Nolan, Elaine’s jealous streak kicked in.  She was the most cooperative that she has ever been for pictures! And then I had to take Betsy’s picture! Phew!  All done!

Nolan’s First Video

Nolan wanted to send a little smile to his grandparents and great-grandparents, since he hasn’t been able to see them for a while.  He is getting so big that he was afraid they wouldn’t recognize him!

Babywearing Elaine

I have a Kozy Carrier that I use for Nolan.  I received it to do a review and giveaway on my cloth diaper blog .  I mostly use it when we go out, but last week I put him in it so that I could finish hanging the laundry.  Elaine saw me using it.  Later she brought me her baby doll and the Kozy and indicated that she wanted me to put it on her.  I had to tie so many knots to keep her from tripping on the straps!  But she was happy, and incredibly cute!

Pretty Pink Fingers

Elaine often has twinkly toes.  When she sees me using nail polish on my toenails she wants some on hers too.   Last night she had twinkly fingers.  As we were getting ready for church, she asked for some of my nail polish.  She already had her shoes and socks on, so I painted her finger nails instead.  She loved it!  (Glad it was non-toxic Piggy Paint).  I was told that she “bragged” about her fingers in the nursery to her friends (you know…she stuck her fingers out for inspection).  And if you pointed out her pretty pink nails, she would blow on them like I showed her to do to speed up the drying process! She loves to have her picture taken – look at that pose! This is Elaine’s “new” smile.  It’s my favorite!

Nolan’s Two Month Check-up and Elaine’s Big Sister Moments

Image
Today Nolan had his two month doctor’s visit.  The one where he gets shots.  And finally…an official weigh-in!  After all of the information was tabulated, we learned that our big guy is a whopping 14 pounds, 10 ounces.  His big sister (bigger by 20 months…yes – almost TWO years) weighed in at 22 pounds, 4 ounces.  Okay…that’s only an eight pound difference!  Yes…I’m one of those scary people who takes her camera everywhere, even to the doctor’s office!  A scrapbooker has to document everything! It was a very different experience for me to be told that my son is in the 90th percentile for weight, and 99th percentile for height (25 inches).  Elaine has always hovered around the 10th percentile, and I would get the “she needs to gain more weight” lecture from the doctor. **Update: I checked my records, and Elaine had similar measurements when she was six months old! Elaine was given a new baby doll at church last night.  “Sally” became...

Nolan is Two Months Old!

Image
Yesterday marked two months since Nolan joined our family.  Wow!  Time flies by so fast!  He is such a happy, easy going baby (except in the late evening…I guess everyone needs a fussy time).  Recently he has started smiling and making all kinds of little happy noises.  He loves to have company – definitely the social butterfly type of second child!  If I walk out of the room or he is not included in what is going on, he cries.  He particularly likes his play gym and bouncy chair right now. “Aww, Mom!  Not more pictures!” “You were serious, weren’t you?” There…I captured his smile without blurry movements!  He is very active and always has something in motion!  Nolan’s shirt says “Made You Smile” and that is what he does…everyday!
