Thankful Thursday–New Cradle

Image
Elaine is napping and Ben will be home soon – that gives me about three minutes to write this post!  Today I am thankful for dumpster diving. Okay not exactly.   Around here it’s not exactly the same – there are not many dumpsters in our neighborhood.  But everyone piles their trash and recycling on the sidewalk to be collected the next day. We were headed to the grocery store after dinner when we scored a great find!  Ben just *happened* to be parked on 72nd street, and someone just *happened* to be throwing away some furnitere.  On top of the pile was a full size cradle in very excellent (I would say “gently used”) condition!  Ben pulled it out to test it and it worked perfectly!  Even the little mattress was in pristine condition.  (Ben usually won’t take anything used because of bed bugs).   We were planning to get a toddler bed for Elaine and squeeze it into her tiny bedroom along with the crib.  This cradle fits much bette...

Scary.

Happy Birthday, Best Friend

Image
Today is Danielle’s birthday.  Danielle is my best girlfriend.  I guess in the grand scheme of things we haven’t known each other long – we met in college in 2003.  But ever since that first meeting, drawn together by the fact that we both love purple, we have been inseparable.    Danielle was like the sister I never had.  I miss her a lot.  Good friends like her are rare, and it’s hard to be so far apart.  Whenever we get together, we are able to pick up as if we have never been apart!  And Elaine & Danielle share a middle name – Cristin (yup – that was on purpose).   Happy Birthday Danielle   thanks for being my true friend! Love, Andrea

Closet Conversion

I am still here, believe it or not.  I haven’t really been feeling great in the last week (pregnancy I guess), and I don’t feel like anything “blog worthy” has happened.  Ben is still working.  Elaine is still growing.  I am still pregnant.  New York City is still snowy.  So…I haven’t been blogging. I have come across a  couple of new blogs lately the I absolutely {love}!  The first is I Heart Organizing .  Jen is an organizational sensation, I think.  She has several free downloads, great tutorials (I am going to label my house using this tutorial), and and amazing ideas. The other blog is called I’m an Organizing Junkie .  Laura has written a book on organization, and she is doing a special feature every Friday in 2011 – that’s 52 organizational projects.  Wow! So, needless to say, I was inspired.  I have discovered that one of the downfalls to living in New York City is that closet space is non-existent.  ...

To Know the Love of Christ…

Ephesians 3:14-21  14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,   15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,  16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;  17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  19 And to know the love of Christ , which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.  20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,  21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
