May Photo A Day, part 1

Image
May Photo A Day hosted by Fat Mum Slim Day 1: Peace some of my favorite verses, Isaiah 26:3-4.  True peace only comes from trusting in the LORD. Day 2: Skyline I really wanted a Manhattan skyline picture, especailly since the Freedom Tower surpassed the Empire State building in height this week.  But…the weather was too overcast.  So here is the skyline above my house and looking down my street.  We live in the Brownstone with the dirty yellow crown on the left. Day 3: Something I Wore Today I actually wear this almost everyday.  Ben bought it for me in Israel.  And while I am not Jewish myself, my Messiah is Jewish.  And I am grateful to God for the Spiritual Blessings that have been passed to me through His people, Israel (Gen.12:3). Day 4: fun! Nolan had utter fun dumping every puzzle and book of the shelves, and then discovering how to climb on the puzzle box so he could reach more. Day 5: Bird I actually ...

Five Minute Friday: Real

Image
On Fridays over here a group of people who love to go all out buck wild for the fun of the written word gather to share what five minutes buys them. Just five minutes. Unscripted. Unedited. Real.  If you have writer’s block – we have the cure. {Hosted by the Gypsy Mama} 1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking. 2. Link back here and invite others to join in. 3. Please visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. OK, are you ready? Give me your best five minutes on: Real… “of or relating to practical or everyday concerns or activities” {Merriam Webster} GO. When I was in High School I dreamed of college.  When I was in college I dreamed of being married.  After I was married I dreamed of being a mama.  Now all of those things are realities.  They have happened.  But being a real mom isn’t just about beautiful babies, cute outfits, and play dates.  Sometimes it’s h...

Wordless Wednesday

Image
Well I took these pictures to share yesterday, and then forgot to post them.  So since it’s not Wednesday, I figured I didn’t have to be wordless!  My kids got new sunglasses this week.  Trouble is…Nolan doesn’t like to wear his.  He likes to chew them.  So it was hard to get a good picture.  But for what they are worth, here they are.  Elaine picked apples, and mommy picked camouflage for Nolan.  This is what my kids really do most of the time.  Elaine picks her nose, and Nolan chews on anything that resembles a camera or a phone. I cropped this picture, but I had to hold their hands down while I took the picture so Nolan wouldn’t rip his glasses off. There you have it.  Worded Thursday.

The Bronx Zoo

Image
We had the opportunity to visit the Bronx Zoo on Saturday with Ben’s folks.  One the benefits of closing my diaper business is that I had some spare money for a zoo membership, which gets me into four NYC zoos and the aquarium for free.  We found out during our visit that the membership was worth even more, as it allowed us to get into any of the “extras” for free.  And some of the extras were things like the monkey house, the children’s zoo, and the carousel. It was supposed to be raining, but God answered our prayers for good weather and we had sunshine all day!  Ready for picture overload? Nolan was really excited about the snake, to my dismay and my dad’s delight.  My dad can’t wait to introduce Nolan to a real snake when we visit Colorado next month.   Nolan also thought the goats were great…until one licked his finger! Nolan’s first look at a real cow.  And a pretty sorry looking cow it is! Elaine had been asking to feed the...
